Direct Democracy in Cupertino

Below is the City Organizational Chart (took from page 9 of 2023-2024 Adopted Budget report).

It works great except for the top two boxes. Citizens of Cupertino direct the City Council only in the name. The goal of Cupertino Voice is to solidify the line between the Citizens of Cupertino and our City Council.

Our objective is to create an easy to use city-wide polling system that will enable a better understanding of the wider concerns in our community, while protecting individual user’s privacy.

Our approach is to promote Direct Democracy on important issues in Cupertino through surveys. Our goal is to share the resulting insights with the community, and utilize them to achieve better public representation in policy and decision making. To ensure the results represent resident sentiment, the survey will differentiate between Registered Voters of Cupertino and the general public.

Please participate in our surveys to make your voice heard. The more participation, the louder our voice. The votes and opinions of Cupertino residents are more important than those of a few well-funded special interest groups.
